However, compared with the previous talent cultivation model of urban development and planning, how to construct a system that systematically cultivates future talents who care about rural development vision, local life resilience, and cross-field knowledge connotation is indeed a continuous operation of Taiwan's local creation. very crucial subject.

In recent years, the country's overall development policy has repositioned universities from "academic research" to "teaching quality and social contribution", comprehensively considering the professional attributes of each college, and the integrity of knowledge learning for local creation and development. The General Education Center has long cooperated with various departments through service learning, and through the "Civil Literacy Ceramics Project" (2011-2014) and "University Learning Ecosystem Innovation Project" (2015-2017), not only created The "Social Engagement Curriculum" that crosses borders has been developed, and the "R-Cube Youth Returning Home Innovation Practice Credit Course and Micro-learning Course" has been developed to cultivate a caring vision, knowledge and ability for rural development. Based on the experience of holistic education and cross-domain innovation teaching and talent cultivation of the previous general education center, the school restructured its organization and set it up as the Shuishi Lian College, which not only demonstrates the innovative thinking of the general education of the school, It can also provide a more precise and appropriate approach for the cultivation of local interdisciplinary talents.
